Rules And Regulations

1. Visitors are reminded that the grounds of the cemetery are sacredly devoted to the interment and repose of the dead, and that strict observance of the decorum due such a place will be expected and required of at all times.
2. Owners of lots are prohibited from allowing interments to be made in their lots for remuneration.
3. The Board of Directors shall have the right to refuse interment on lots which have not been paid for in whole; or in which payment is past due.
4. By special arrangement with the Sexton funerals are permitted on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays.
5. Two individual bodies may be buried in one grave space if both are cremated or if one is buried and the other cremated. Any variation must have board approval.
6. The Board of Directors shall have the right and duty to enter any lot and remove trees, shrubs or parts therefor which have become detrimental to adjacent lots or avenues or have become dangerous or inconvenient to passers.
A) Planting flowers, trees or grass at any time is prohibited. Memorial trees may be purchased through the Cemetery Board and will be planted by the sextons or nursery only.
B) There shall be no spraying of chemicals around stones or in any part of the cemetery by anyone other than cemetery personnel.
C) The Board also maintains the right to remove or prune any trees shrubbery which may obstruct or mar the effect and beauty of the scenery or may otherwise prove injurious, unsightly or detrimental.
7. The proper care and regulation of the grounds of the cemetery, the location and grade of lots, walks, avenues and drives, and the general control of all improvements are under the authority of the Board of Directors, as directed to their agents, the Sexton and his subordinates.
A) The grades of all lots will be determined by the Sexton as the authorized agent of the association to insure the proper regulation the grounds.
8. The owner of each lot is required to purchase a monument and grave markers for that lot. These must be places on regulation foundations, all of which shall be set in masonry, subject to approval of the Board of Directors. Measurements of upright stones must not exceed the following: single stone height 48 inches, width 16 inches, length 36 inches including the base. double stone height 48 inches, width 16 inches, length 72 inches including the base. all stones will be sealed with epoxy or concrete to the base and sealed around the monument stone.
A) A) As of January 2021, flat stones are no longer allowed in the cemetery. Existing flat stones may be raised by the Sexton only, according to specifications. Flat stones should be raised and put on a concrete base 4 inches high and concrete extensions could be 8 inches on the ends to accommodate vases. ( Cost dependent upon size of stone, cement used and cost of vases). Any stone work is to be done by the Sexton only.
B) A permanent headstone or marker must be installed within a year of burial. After a year a reminder letter will be sent; to inform of the need for a permanent monument.
9. No vault shall be erected wholly or in part above ground. Vaults are required for all burials, they must be sealed and shall consist of concrete, fiberglass or steel. Non-insulated 3 piece boxes ARE NOT accepted. Cremations must be in a permanent, sealed, unbreakable urn.
10. Containers and articles inconsistent with the proper keeping of the ground will not be permitted. Articles that are now on the cemetery grounds will be removed when the fall into disrepair and replacement of said articles will not be permitted subject the the Board of Directors.
11. Spring clean-up will be announced in the local newspaper. all decorations are to be removed by March 1. The may be returned on or after March 15.
A) Cut and artificial flowers may be used as grave decorations in permanent vases from March 15 to November 1. If there are no permanent vases, two bouquets may be places and left against the tombstone. These bouquets will only be removed by the employees at cleanup unless they have become faded or torn. (The cemetery is not responsible for the decorations that are damaged of blown away by weather.)
B) Flowers must Not be in glass or clay pots or have wires sticking out in any way. No pipe or tubing on graves. If fresh flowers or planters are used, then the individual(s) placing them are responsible for their care.
12. Shepherd hooks will be allowed in the cemetery provided the following specifications are met and maintained. a shepherd hook must be at least 1/2 inch min. to 5/8 in max. in diameter with a stabilizer underground that will not move placed against the stone. height must not exceed 48 inches (4 feet). Only one shepherd hook with no more than 2 arms may be placed per stone.
A) Shepherd hooks placed before 1999 will be grandfathered in. Any hook will be removed if not properly maintained. Any decorations other than a shepherd hook must be approved by the Board of Directors.
13. No burial of Animals is allowed.
14. Organizations wanting to participate in services or ceremonies on funeral occasions, memorial days, or any other time must have permission of the Board of Directors or the Sexton.
15. The association shall not be liable for loss or damage to tombstones, Monuments or gravestones caused by fire, lightning, windstorm, cyclone, tornado, or hail, nor any other loss or damage caused by so-called "acts of god".
